To the best of our knowledge there are three companies providing the downloadable plans for as less as 50$ to create the Home made Energy Systems and visit each website to know more(opens in new window).
Actual kits and/or someone coming around to fit the device can cost $1000 or more but anyone with basic DIY and electrical knowledge can ignore these types of prices and purchase for under $100.
Lets say you plan to Buy a Solar Panel and Hire a Technician to install it.A Decent Solar Panel would cost you 1200 $ + Installation Charges = 200 $ with a total of about 1400 $ but again they only claim to be saving electricity by 40%.
